If you want
a mini airliner, that can fly 25,000’ in pressurized air
conditioned comfort, carry up to six people in excess of 200+
to 230kts, while burning 12-17 gph, 9 hour / 1,700 nm
range, then here is your chance to own a beautiful well equipped
1985 “continental/ ‘victor black edition ii’ tsio-550” piper
malibu, without paying the $1,500,000+ piper price for a new lycoming
powered mirage or $550,000+ for the baby cirrus sr22-g3 turbo that
only seats 4 in a baby cabin with no pressurization, or even $750,000
for the new saratoga 6xt that is non-pressurized and 30-60kts slower
than the malibu. (the continental 550 burns less fuel (2-4 gph)
per hour then the new lycoming 540 powered mirage with the same
performance.) remember the continental 550 is flown 50 degrees “lean” of
peak at settings of 75% or less of rated power. 75% gives speeds
above 230-240 kts and 16gph @ 24-25,000’ or @ 55%, will burn
12gph @ 200+ kts, with about same fuel burn as cessna 182t. Not
to shabby. |
